We mentioned it was my parents 50th wedding anniversary and the staff (especially Orathai) couldn't do more to make it a very special evening, the service was exceptional! Also a bonus it is a BYO. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone!"

The only hitch of the night was that the lift wasn’t working at the end of the night for a disabled diner but this wasn’t the fault of the restaurant. "Great service and great food. A really nice feel to this restaurant when you walk in. Atmosphere great and the hostess spread the guests around the restaurant so that groups had their own space. Orders taken promptly and the food did not disappoint. The nicest Thai I have had in Tauranga.
We were a party of 4, and all had different dishes. Everyone agreed that the food was delicious. Pricing is mid range, but worth every dollar paid. The restaurant is very well presented as well as the bathrooms which are of a very high standard. The service was very attentive and friendly and our waitress was a bit of a character. Now the food, I had a cold, but I could still taste the lovely flavours and we were offered a side plate Thai chillies for extra flavour should we need it. "Amazing Duck Curry. I keep going back to the Duck Curry as the Flavours are sensational along with Gae's hospitality it makes it a great place to eat and the food is amazing. I have been going to the Collar and Thai for several years now and they have never let me down. A must visit if you want a romantic dinner or with Friends I highly recommend this Thai."

We came back at the pre arranged time and as we walked in the meal was ready. For a 30 minute lunch break it was perfect. I had the green curry with prawns and it was lovely, enough prawns on the plate cooked perfectly."
